A Pregnancy Scandal, second book in the Love & Lipstick series by Kat Cantrell is a sexy, angsty and well written story! I anticipated this book after reading the first novel in the series debut and I must say I am not disappointed at all. Ms. Cantrell layered her story so well that the settings, back stories, dialogues and vivid prose created a dazzling, edgy concoction. More so, her characters were flawed, flashy and uptight in a likable way. And as the title suggests, the unplanned pregnancy added extra drama to an already dramatic plot. I enjoyed reading this book due to the fact that Ms. Cantrell gives her characters enough room to grow and evolve. Phillip garnered my vote when he grows to accept and love Alexandra. I rooted for Alexandra from the beginning as she deals with her insecurities and learns to let go of her haunting past. And having Phillip finally accepting her as she is makes her growth as a character stronger. Surely, this is one story I’d recommend to readers. And though this is a common theme used in the Desire line, the author pulled off all the stops by adding her unique touch and making the story her own. So that is something worth the read.

When I Found You by Kate James is a super emotional story that will leave you satisfied until the end. Ms. James creates a cast of deeply flawed characters who are tested and tried throughout the book. The main focus of this story, in my perspective, is trust. I was moved by the inner turmoil of the H/h and I rooted for them along their bumpy journey towards their fulfilling forever after.
Book 3 in the K-9 Trilogy – When I Found You tells the story of Logan O’Connor who appeared in the previous K-9 books. In this book we get to know Logan on a personal level. The author delves deep into his life, chiseling away the tough outer walls he’d built around himself, revealing his soft side. A side where his emotions are raw and his goals are unraveled without overpowering the romantic side of the story. Meanwhile, the heroine of this clean, sweet, suspenseful and emotionally gripping story is Ariana Atkins, Chief of Security at the San Diego International Airport. When a series of security breaches scare the hell out of her, Ariana begins to question herself on whether someone is threatening her on purpose. Because of panic, she must work with Logan in finding the person behind the breaches although all fingers point in her direction! Of course sparks fly between Logan and Ariana. But is it enough to keep Logan from believing Ariana is the one instigating the breaches? Grab a copy of this book and find out!

Wedded, Bedded, Betrayed by Michelle Smart is unique, fast-paced and different. The author adds high stakes drama as the foundation of her flawed characters in this interesting story. Ms. Smart gives her cast obstacles to overcome at every twist and turn. And resolving these issues placed before them stokes the reader’s interest as the story takes flight and with it is born a steamy and outrageous romance. As the title suggests, there is heartbreak, angst, betrayal, deceit, revenge and of course romance abounding from a well-crafted plot with an unexpected twist.
Gabriele Mantegna is on a mission, on a private island for two reasons. One, he must recover confidential files that would remove the stain cast upon him by a crime he had nothing to do with and two, he is searching for evidence to ascertain the person behind his dilemma. But his mission is marred by another crime in the works on the island. As events spiral out of control, Gabriele is now caught up in a whirlwind. Meanwhile the heroine, Elena Ricci is having a long overdue vacation at the family villa but she flips out when she encounters people stealing her family’s priceless belongings. The conclusion of Jenna Kernan’s Apache Protectors ends on a good note. The author ties up all the unanswered questions and loose ends nicely in this story, meanwhile giving Clyne Cosen a happy and worthwhile happy ever after. Ms. Kernan writes with such passion and depth that is hard not to notice it in her vivid, descriptive storytelling. Drama, angst, a web of deceit and tension filled scenes take the reader on an engaging journey, where every moment counts. FBI field agent Cassidy Walker and Clyne Cosen are at odds with each other. Cassidy’s duty is to protect Clyne but Clyne is hell-bent on refusing to let her babysit him. When villains aren’t at their backs they fight off the sizzling chemistry simmering between them even as their battle for custody over Clyne’s kid sister thickens the plot. It is wonderful to see the author resolve the problems with such clarity. Thrilling and suspenseful, Native Born will leave you wanting more from this talented author!

You will find this story quite exciting from page one. It is guaranteed to evoke a sigh once or twice as the characters intermingle and get closer!

Emotionally stirring, sensually mesmerizing and beautifully written, His Pregnant Sleeping Beauty by Lynne Marshall will keep you engrossed until the end. This is a story that will pull at your heartstrings. The tension between Joseph Joe Matthews and Carey Spencer is evident on the page as their past haunts their present day life. They recreate their past pain every chance they get. I cannot give away much of the plot without baring the essence of this intensely consuming story. But I will say this: would you be willing to put your trust in a stranger if you’ve been abused and been hurt by loved ones in your past? Keep this question in mind if you think about giving this story a try. Because, this is what His Pregnant Sleeping Beauty is about—putting yourself out there even though you want to hide away in your shell.

Sizzling, engrossing and angsty Smolder by Tracy Solheim should definitely be on your radar of novellas to read. The characters in this short and fast-paced story were well-drawn out and the author did a fine job building their individual back-stories without overpowering the readers. Sam and Lauren jumped off the pages. Their past relationships, their struggle, their growth—their overall personalities kept you interested until the end. This is a gem for readers who love short stories that sizzle!
